Default recently looked into going to a local community college

Hello friends, I have decided to start a home based business soon, and I recently looked into going to a local community college for the two-year business management degree further on. So please, if you don't mind, explain the purpose of it. If I already have a home business running later, is it necessary for me to have that degree? I'll be waiting for your answers. Please answer me. Thank you in advance.
