I love Oahu. There are so many places to go. The housing is very expensive there. However, you will appreciate the cost once you see how beautiful the area is. I would try to stay away from Honululo and Waikiki but other areas like Kailua are great.

Thanks for the link. I will check it out. I have also heard that it can be very expensive on that side of the island. As well you have alot of tourism there. I guess it got popular after a show that was on a few years ago was on named after that city.

A good website with lots of information about Oahu is http://www.kailua-hawaii.com. Kailua isn't a very touristy area, and its close enough to Honolulu etc...
Can anyone recommend a good area that is not filled with tourists on Oahu? I am looking to relocate to this island. Not sure when but am looking just in case. Here is a good website for Honolulu information:

This is not really a reply, but I didn't see how to start a new thread. Would it be possible to bring our pet rabbits to Hawaii. Also, are there any places in Hawaii that are not high cost of living? What attracts me to Hawaii is that it is about the only place in the English-speaking world that is both liberal and has a pleasant climate and that I could work as a physician with a D.O. degree. Being on the beach is not a big concern for me.
Thanks for any information JD |
