What do you look for in an area?

What are some of the things that are important to you when you're considering an area to relocate to?

schools?
hospitals?
shopping?
accessibility to major highways?

I like to look at how well the schools are. As well I want to see the distance there is between the house and a hospital. Shopping isn't a big factor since I am already used to driving 20 miles to the nearest grocery store or walmart. Freeways or highways really aren't a big thing either.

I have to agree schools and medical facilities are the things I look at. I also like to go at night tot the neighborhood to see what type of activity is going on. I know this sounds funny. I moved into a neighborhood many years ago, it looked good during the day but at night all the drug addicts came out.
