The city of Denton (population 80,537) is the county seat for Denton County. It is located about 40 miles north of Dallas/Fort Worth, and is considered part of that metroplex. Although it certainly has its own identity, it is considered a suburb of Dallas.

Over the past 10 years Denton's population has continued to accelerate. People from all over the United States are relocating into Denton. Many get there by way of Dallas, but Denton is booming.
