It is equally known for its field of play, as well as its incredible scenery. The emerald brilliance of the course is a stark contradiction to the purplish hue of the mountains in the backdrop.

Of course, gambling is not an activity for tourists alone. Casinos offer the possibility of a big win, along with national touring acts, family attractions and world class restaurants. Many locals stay off the Las Vegas Strip and choose instead to go downtown. Fremont Street is the main drag here. Its ninety foot high canopy covers four blocks of casinos, restaurants, and shops. Every night, the skies come to life as the world's largest electric sign begins its choreographed routine of dazzling lights and concert quality sound.
